OBJECTIVES AND MAIN TOPICS The 6th A.I.S.E. Information Day will take place on the afternoon of 2nd December 2009. The theme of the event is:
“Sustainability across the cleaning system: best practices and latest developments”.
The 6th A.I.S.E. information day will look at how sustainability is applied across the cleaning system. On this occasion, we plan to announce the 2010 version of the Charter for Sustainable Cleaning, an unprecedented industry-wide voluntary initiative launched in 2005. This industry scheme has been developed in the context of the overall objectives embodied of the SCP/SIP Action Plan. The first part of the conference will focus on the EU regulatory landscape vis à vis the Sustainable Consumption and Production Action Plan, while the second session will shed light on what industry has achieved over the years in its efforts to drive forward the sustainability agenda. The conference will also examine how important it is for our industry to collaborate with other industry related sectors such as household appliance providers, the cleaning industry and consumer organisations in order to ensure a life-cycle based approach to sustainable practices in the production and consumption of detergents and maintenance products. The Conference will include speakers from the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the EU, Member States, trade partners and industry.
A cocktail at the end of the conference will provide participants with an opportunity to meet industry members and to discuss topics presented at the event.
