International relations

We regularly participate in international events, conferences and initiatives where we can contribute, including the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management, a policy framework to foster the sound management of chemicals endorsed by the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP). This in turn complements the drive to develop a Globally Harmonised hazard classification and compatible labelling System (known in Europe as Classification and Labelling or CLP) which was initiated at the UN Conference on the Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992.

A.I.S.E. and its affiliate national associations regularly attend and present at a variety of international conferences, including the annual SEPAWA congress, the Surfactants World Congress and the AOCS World Conference on Detergents (CESIO), as well as numerous European Union events.

Together with the trade associations for cleaning products in other parts of the world, we set up an informal coalition, the International Network  of Cleaning Products Associations, (INCPA). This group coordinates and engages in efforts to better understand and address chemicals management issues relevant to the industry from a global perspective.
