A.I.S.E. Charter for Sustainable Cleaning joins Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly Certifications

A.I.S.E.’s landmark Charter for Sustainable Cleaning has been recognised by Amazon as an industry sustainability standard that can help their customers make more sustainable choices when shopping for cleaning products and detergents. Amazon shoppers will now be able to search specifically for products that meet the Charter’s product industry standards, and these products will display the green "Climate Pledge Friendly” label on their listings.

Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly programme was launched in 2020 in response to customer demand for more eco-friendly shopping options and covers beauty, fashion, grocery, household, office, and electronics products. The Charter for Sustainable Cleaning joins over 40 respected climate certifications from around the globe, as well as two new certifications from Amazon.

"Climate Pledge Friendly has been designed as a simple way for our customers to shop more sustainably and forms an important part of our commitment to building a sustainable business for our employees, customers and communities,” said Amazon's director of sustainability in Europe Zak Watts.

"The Charter for Sustainable Cleaning shares Amazon’s vision for reducing our impact on the planet. As the flagship voluntary sustainability initiative of the European cleaning and maintenance products industry for the last 18 years, the Charter steers best practices for minimising our footprint, greener innovation, safer and more sustainable use of products and embracing the circular economy. Charter members have turned their commitment into real-world results, including lower greenhouse gas emissions, cutting energy usage and reducing packaging.” Sascha Nissen A.I.S.E.
