As part of its commitment to help increase
the uptake of recycled packaging material, notably to help achieve the
objectives of its voluntary pledge on plastic packaging, A.I.S.E. launched the Sleeve
icon in order to encourage consumers to take the sleeve off the pack after
using the product, thus facilitating the recycling of the plastic bottle by
recycling companies.
This applies to companies using full-body sleeves in the
detergent and maintenance products sector in Europe, respecting the guidelines
provided by the European PET Bottle Platform (EPBP). The use of this icon applies to all plastic
bottles, and it is not limited to PET. The icon is available to any company of the detergent and
maintenance sector in Europe, and may be used by other sectors too provided the
guidelines herewith are respected.
A.I.S.E. has shared this material with the following organisations to aim for a common industry approach and consistency in the message towards consumers: AIM, Cosmetics Europe, EPBP, EuroCommerce, EUROPEN, FoodDrinkEurope, the Forum Rezyklat, the Packaging Chain Forum, Petcore Europe and Plastic Recyclers Europe.
