European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to animal testing (EPAA): A decade of support to the 3Rs

A.I.S.E., a founding member of the European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to animal testing (EPAA) was pleased to celebrate the partnerships' 10th anniversary and its hard work and commitment towards alternatives to animal testing and the 3Rs principles. 

The conference took place on 1st December 2015, at 13:30-18:30, in the European Parliament, Brussels, and was hosted by Giovanni La Via MEP, ENVI Committee Chair, representatives of the European Parliament, European Council Presidency, regulators and civil society. They called for a continued commitment from the European Commission and industry to support alternative approaches to animal testing.

At the EPAA conference, the 3Rs Laboratory Technician Award was bestowed on Ms Alexandra Lorenz from TissUse GmbH for her work entitled "A multi-organ chip for co-culture of organ equivalents for long-term substance testing”.
