Corporate communication
A.I.S.E. publishes today its new Activity & Sustainability Report, highlighting the very critical role of hygiene and how the industry ensures the availability of essential cleaning and hygiene products to safeguard public health. The Report also presents A.I.S.E.’s commitment to being a true partner in the successful implementation of the European Green Deal, through the association's focus on the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability, our flagship Charter for Sustainable Cleaning, and our collaboration on Digitalisation to empower consumers, promoting above all safe and sustainable use.

Some highlights include:

  • The substantial economic contribution of the sector: a market value of €41,2 billion (€32,4 for the household sector and €8,8 billion for the professional sector) showcasing the critical role of the industry to deliver essential hygiene products to society
  • The latest KPIs for the Charter for Sustainable Cleaning as well as the first set of KPIs for our voluntary plastic packaging initiative, showing measurable contributions to the EU’s goal to be carbon neutral by 2050:
    • 55% less CO2 emissions (per tonne of production) vs 2006
    • 43% less energy use per tonne of production vs 2006
    • 17 % less packaging vs 2006
  • Regulatory priorities working for a more coherent and relevant framework for the household and professional sector, notably through work on the Detergents Regulation CLP, REACH and BPR, and our input to the various consultation processes of the CSS, Circular Economy Action Plan, and Digitalisation Agenda
  • The many voluntary initiatives and industry guidance to drive safe use by end users, and a focus on the scientific research that A.I.S.E. carries out to support our emphasis that regulation of our sector be based on robust scientific principles and data.
