The A.I.S.E. Charter for Sustainable Cleaning continues to drive progress in sustainability practices across our industry.
A.I.S.E.’s latest performance report for the Charter for Sustainable Cleaning proudly shows how this industry continues to lead by example in securing a sustainable future, based on measurable improvements in performance by Charter member companies in the last 12 months.
The new report is based on the data from 2022 from 114 companies for a total number of 193 manufacturing sites. This covers 11.9mt (million tonnes) of production, equivalent to 98.5% of the total output of the reporting companies from the EU+EFTA+UK.
Highlights from this year’s performance report include:
• 42% less CO2 emissions
• 42% less energy use
• Continuous widening gap between economic growth and resource use
• Decreasing consumption of water and generation of waste
• Steady increase in recycled plastic material in packaging
