Generic Exposure Information Sheet (GEIS) - a practical way to communicate safe use of mixtures under REACH

Initiatives

The goal of the Generic Exposure Information Sheet (GEIS) project was to find an appropriate method to communicate the results from extended Safety Data Sheets (SDS) (for substances) to professional end users of industrial and institutional cleaning and maintenance products. As the means to communicate safe use information under REACH has increased the complexity of the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), which can be challenging for the end user, the GEIS project therefore creates a simple and standardised Generic Exposure Information Sheet for each standardised use containing all conditions to safely use the products in our industry sector. The GEIS documents contain links to relevant sections in the SDS and the product label and are non-product-specific.
